Westgarth Eco Pond
Westgarth’s Pond and Wildlife Area is an area with in school which has been developed by the children themselves. In 2014, the Eco Council, as well as other interested children with in the school, came up with the idea of developing an area for wildlife. It was from that that the children came up with organising a fundraiser in conjunction with Westgarth’s 30th birthday. We raised an amazing £2767.65 for the pond fund.
The building of the pond then started after talks with a company from our local area and the Eco Council.
The area is now being developed with ideas from the children on how we can make this a wonderful habitat for wildlife to live as well as a learning environment for all children in the school. We are all very proud of the area and hope it will continue to develop and grow into an integral part of our school.
