Pupils throughout KS2 join together annually with 3,000 other children from the region to take part in the ‘Big Sing’ at The Sage, Gateshead. The children look forward to a different theme each year, learning lots of songs in different genres.

2017 saw the start of a new adventure for children in KS1. Similar to the Big Sing for Key Stage Two, pupils from Year Two took part in a large group singing event held at The Sage, Gateshead.

Here are some pictures and information of music events thoughout the year.

Throughout the year we celebrate music within the local community. Recently our 100 Voices Choir took part in a celebratory concert for the 100th Birthday of Leonard Cheshire, the founder of the Cheshire Homes in Marske. The choir did a fabulous job and put a smile on everyone’s face by singing ‘Almost there’ and ‘La Bamba’. A big well done to all involved.

We had a fantastic turn out for our Christmas Services this year at St Mark’s Church. Both performances were extremely magical and were thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Alongside peripatetic staff from Tees Valley Music Service, pupils in Year Four enjoy their festive traditions with a sing-along ‘Snappy Christmas’ celebration. It’s a perfect opportunity to join together at this time of year and even wear festive jumpers and accessories! It is lovely to see so many of our supportive parents attending the concert in the afternoon session each year.
